For the past two weeks, we have been exploring farm animals in nursery.
The children worked together to paint a large box brown and turn it into a barn for our animals. We then went to collect some hay, carefully filling our buckets. The children enjoyed feeling the soft texture of the hay as they explored it, and we filled the barn together to make a cosy home for the animals.

The weather was beautifully sunny one morning, so we made the most of it by sitting outside together. We shared the Noisy Farm story book, and the children loved joining in with the animal sounds. Many of them recognised the animals from our play and talked about what they eat, where they live, and the noises they make. It was a lovely, calm moment of listening, laughing, and learning in the fresh air.

We have also been busy preparing something special for Mother’s Day. Each child created a handmade card to take home. They made a colourful handprint flower using their painted hand as the petals, and then added pretty fingertip prints to decorate the card with delicate petals. The children took such pride in their work, and the results were absolutely beautiful. We hope all our wonderful mums enjoyed their thoughtful cards as much as the children enjoyed making them.
