This week we also learned that it is Lunar New Year, and this year is the Year of the Horse. The children enjoyed talking about how different countries celebrate this special time of year, looking at pictures of horses in the zodiac, and discovering the traditions that make Lunar New Year so colourful and exciting…
In Nursery we explored two exciting sensory trays!
✨ Pasta Tray
The children used tweezers to pick up pieces of pasta, using their fine motor skills and building strength in their fingers. Everyone tried so hard and did a fantastic job!
✨ Red Rice Tray
We also had a tray filled with red rice. The children were encouraged to feel the different textures and talk about how it felt. There was lots of scooping, pouring, and filling, helping to develop coordination and early maths skills. You all engaged brilliantly and had such fun exploring!

We all enjoyed reading our Lunar Celebration books this week. The children loved exploring the characters and the exciting traditions in the stories.
They also did lots of colouring, especially pictures of horses and dragons, which really sparked their creativity and imagination.
It’s been a fantastic week of learning in Nursery — full of curiosity, colour, and fun!
