How exciting its Luna new year, we started the week eating some cooked noodles, most of the 2 year olds did like them. Then we cooked some more noodles to play in…. we all had great fun playing in the noodles and you all showed how amazing you fine motor skills are by picking up the noodles with the tweezers.
We all did some great colouring in pictures and making gift envelope’s. To finish the week we all made a snake using bubble-wrap dipped in paint…

All the children helped cooked banana bread this week in the 2yo nursery. We all did some great mixing and what amazing concentration from all the children. We listened really well to the teacher giving instructions. We cooked the banana bread, then when it cooled down we all ate some it was yummy, well done 2 year old nursery.
Christmas is a very Exciting time of the year for young children, all the bright flashing lights, all the different colours and not forgetting all the singing we do.
We started Christmas off with decorating the Christmas tree, then we made Christmas card by dipping our hands in paint and making a big hand print. we then decorated it and made a Reindeer.
Parents stay and play. We invited all our parents into nursery to do some different crafts with their child. Everyone made some fantastic tree decorations, calendars and Christmas crackers. Then we sat down to eat with our families. We finished the session singing Christmas carols and playing jingle bells.

We welcomed all our new starters and some children returning from last summer term.
We all did lots of playing with our nursery friends and exploring the nursery setting.
We met the school animals : Feeding them, cleaning them and looking after the chickens and the guinea pigs.
The children made some lovely shapes on their paintings and used some amazing colours.
We have had a fantastic few weeks in the 2 year old nursery doing lots of different sports activities and practicing for sports day. The children did some great balancing on the blocks and playing with balls in the MUGA. Not forgetting that we did lots of practicing for sports day with the help from our year 6 children.

In the two year old nursery this term we started off by planting some seeds, watered them and watched them start to germinate. When the seedlings got big enough we planted them into plant pots.
We planted the rest of the seedlings in the nursery garden.
All the 2 year old nursery parents were invited to come into nursery to do some activities with there child and an Easter egg hunt. The children and parents made some fantastic Easter baskets.
All the 2 year old nursery children took it in turns to make some chocolate crispy buns.
The children did a great job at mixing the ingredients together and spooning it into the bun cases. You all got to take one home too.
What a fantastic day we all had today when Ian’s Mobile Farm joined us in school. He brought some of his farm animals for us to meet. It was very exciting and the children were thrilled to be able to touch, brush and play with all of the animals, which included; chickens, ducks, donkeys, alpacas and goats. Meg the sheep dog was awesome at fetching her ball.
The children enjoyed Playing with snow and ice in the 2 year old nursery this term.
Some children said it was “very cold” but it was defiantly a different sensory feeling…
The children made some beautiful pictures using only cold colours….
All the children did some amazing balancing.
We even went outside to play when it snowed, the children where very excited.
